Relaxation for everyone.<\/span><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span>The surroundings of\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Opperdoes<\/span><\/span> are very versatile and an excellent base for a cycling, sailing or walking tour. Our<\/span><\/span> B&B ‘t Sko\u00f4tje is 5 minutes by bike from Medemblik and Twisk.\u00a0
Medemblik is a beautifult historic town. The atmosphere in the harbor is always pleasant and it is good to stay there. With the IJsselmeer lake as a backyard, it is a paradise for sailing and swimming enthusiasts.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Just like Opperdoes, Twisk is an authentic West Frisian village, where beautiful farmhouses adorn the village streets. The bridges over the canals and the majestic rows of trees on the ancient cobblestone streets make it a feast for the eyes.<\/p>\n

From the Oosteinde it is possible to make a trip through the polder canals and waterways to the center of Medemblik or Enkhuizen.<\/p>\n

Discover West Friesland:<\/b>
Medemblik, Enkhuizen and Hoorn, each with a historic 17th century heart and picturesque harbors, breathe the atmosphere of Dutch glory. Take a seat on a terrace or treat yourself to a delicious lunch or dinner.<\/p>\n

In the summer season a steam train runs daily from Medemblik to Hoorn. Erupting white clouds of steam, this historic heritage winds through the West-Frisian landscape.<\/p>\n

The national heritage can also be admired in the Zuiderzee museum in Enkhuizen, or closer in Medemblik, the Steam museum or the Bakery museum. Here you can see how the sko\u00f4tjes used to be baked in every West-Frisian bakery.<\/p>\n

Biking or Hiking:<\/strong>
From Opperdoes beautiful cycling tours through West-Friesland can be found at www.fietsnetwork.nl. The bicycles can of course be charged and stored in our barn.
In the guesthouse you can find a number of nice hiking trails, which we have mapped out for enthusiasts. Enjoy a breath of fresh air through the polder, enjoy the Dutch skies or take a pleasant stroll through the harbour of Medemblik.<\/p>\n

Nature reserve De\u00a0Sko\u00f4t.\u00a0<\/strong>
Our B&B ‘t\u00a0<\/span>Sko\u00f4tje<\/span>\u00a0is a stone’s throw from big brother De\u00a0<\/span>Sko\u00f4t<\/span>. T<\/span>his nature reserve and water storage is<\/span>\u00a0a stepping stone in the Nature Network of the Netherlands and part of a nature areas stretch between the IJsselmeer lake and the North Sea.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Bird Watching.<\/strong>\u00a0
Bring your binoculars or camera, because it is an idyllic wetland between the West-Frisian ring dike and the horticultural fields with thickets. A nice area for bird watching, including the common snipe, reed warbler, shelduck and the black-tailed godwit.<\/span><\/p>\n
